FIRE IS SCARY / FIRE IS SCARY
Rotterdam base collective FIRE IS SCARY recorded an album of music, based on their artistic research on the topic of translation. They started with a text from Sol created by layering translation upon translation between Korean and English. They then translated the text into a written score of music and finally a fully produced recording. The album is a visual album- a collection of posters (one for each track) featuring the lyrics on one side (with a design by Rotterdam based designer, Tammie Kang) and on the other side, artwork by Sol Enae Lee based on historical forms of translation between sound and image. The nine posters fit inside the gatefold sleeve, which contains basic information about the project and a link to download the music that we recorded.
